An open thank you note to my stomach
Dear Stomach Rolls,
I see you and I thank you <3 Thank you for...
1. Copping my hostility towards you over the years - I am so sorry about that. It was me, not you. You are great and very very normal and necessary (I have come to realise).
2. Being a part of my stomach - Helping mix and breakdown everything I consume and storing all foods until you pass them on to intestines.
3. Playing a huge role in all my movements...especially my belly dancing abilities.
4. Being a highly important part of my gastrointestinal system. We could not do it without you, especially your crucial support with esophagus, small and large intestine.
5. Your simple aesthetics. Otherwise I would just be head, chest, arms and legs. Even though those guys are great too, it would just be plain weird without you.
6. Housing belly button - the sacred spot where my umbilical cord was attached to my mumma bear!
7. Just always being there, supporting me in every way possible and doing your very best.
Stomach rolls, you are pretty great and I am very glad and thankful to always have had you, doing your thing and being awesome.
Today I ask you to think about a body part that you are so quick to criticise....and thank it for all that it does for you. What does it allow you to do and achieve? Without it, how would you function at your best? Hint: you wouldn't. And each time you catch yourself speaking so negatively about it....stop yourself and instead, thank it for all that it does for you.❤
Big love,
Nutmeg xx
